Thursday Dog: Lily

Name: Lily
Nickname(s):
1. Lil Spills
Distinguishing Features:
1. Kisses all the dogs, but especially me, 'enough of the tongue Lily, really.'
2. Soft ears
3. Very bouncy
4. Sausage tail
5. Glossy - bit of a looker
Annoying Habits:
1. Barking at smaller dogs not in the pack
2. Playing a bit too rough
3. Pulling on lead
4. Chasing horses and jumping up at their mouths (big no, no)
Best Friend:
Ruby. Those two are the rough rugby players; always barging and growling and galloping about together.
Doesn't Like:
1. Being on the lead
2. Being restrained in any way
3. Small dogs that are strangers
Car Position:
Has to be in the boot. Way too bouncy to go anywhere else. Sometimes she plays with the other dogs in the back so much the car rocks. She can upset the calm, that one. I have to go in the back with them at times just to keep control of the situation.
Redeeming Features:
1. Comes when called
2. Sits nicely for a gravy bone
3. Loves 'going for it' on the walk
Other General Information:
Lily is full on pretty much all the time, yet she doesn't chase cats. She has 3 or 4 cats in her house and just ignores them. Odd.

Wednesday Dog 2: Dudley

Name:
Dudley
Nickname(s):
1. Dudders
2. Duds
3. Dudsters
4. Fluffy White Cloud (this will mean something to those of you who have read my blog properly...call it my own reward/point/loyalty system)
Distinguishing Features:
1. Bit wobbly (a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips)
2. Wiggly hips (walks like a cat walk model)
3. Magic fur (he can get pretty muddy/wet but when he dries it just sort of drops off)
4. Barks like a seal pup
5. Thinks barking like a seal pup is real HB language and does it to join in with their conversations
Annoying Habits:
1. Itching/scratching. He does it to himself, he rubs up against fences, he crazes the HBs to scratch him: he's one itchy dog. Photo = proof.
2. Barking like a seal pup - oh wait, already mentioned that one
3. Digging at the bottom of puddles
4. Biting mud - seriously? Who does that?
5. Leaping enthusiastically out of the car when it's not time. 'No Dud's, this is Oscar's house.'
6. Stealing other dog's balls
7. Refusing to be caught when it's time to get back in the car
Best Friend:
Probably Oscar, but he likes all dogs. He's friendly.
Doesn't Like:
1. Getting back in the car
2. Being ignored
Car Position:
In the boot, usually tied up to stop the leaping out (see annoying habits), but sometimes with the harness on the back seat.
Redeeming Features:
1. Good natured: everyone loves Duds (except me)
2. Like an good uncle to any new dogs or puppies
3. Loves a fuss
4. Steady and reliable
Other General Information:
Dudley speaks with a strong West Midlands accent - this is important information.

Wednesday Dog 1: Oscar

Name: Oscar
Nickname(s):
1. Osc
2. Oz
3. Going, Going...Gone Boy
Distinguishing Features:
1. Looks like a cuddly toy
2. White tipped tail - very handy when you need to spot him as he disappears into another world
3. Curly very soft fur, which is good to stroke (if you like that kind of thing...personally I like a more wiry finish)
Annoying Habits
1. Running off. Spent many walks waiting or searching for this little monster. Hence the extender lead.
2. Rolling in the most stinky thing he can find. Worse than poo. Much worse.
3. Scrabbling with excitement on the HBs legs when they return from only being away for a moment (or less)
4. Jumping up
Best Friend:
1. Dudders (unless his sister Lola is around - he LOVES her more)
Doesn't Like:
Not much really although he can be a bit picky over treats. Gravy bones: little biscuit bones that taste of gravy - what's not to like? But Oscar can be a bit sniffy. I'll eat his.
Car Position:
Usually the crate. Likes to stink it up ready for the next dog.
Redeeming Features:
1. Very happy fellow
2. Loves people
3. Always affectionate
Other General Info:
Watch out - he runs off the minute you're not watching.

Tuesday Dog 2: Seymour

If you want a photo see previous entry and turn your head round.

Name: Seymour
Nickname(s):
1. Pip Squeak
2. Sees
3. Little Man
Distinguishing Features:
1. Tiny snuffly face
2. Ears that point right up when interested in something
3. Cow markings
4. Spindly legs that are surprisingly springy
5. Tiny, I mean, really small. What is it with these tiny dogs?
Annoying Habits:
1. Pestering. He can buzz about the dogs, springing at their faces and snuffling at them. He sometimes gets them to play,  and sometimes they swat him away like a fly, but mostly they ignore him. He doesn't do it to me. He knows better.
2. Running away game. He used to do this when it was time to put him on the lead. He doesn't do it so much now, unless he's picked up something he wants to keep on the walk like half a dead pigeon. He likes dead things and wood. He's always chewing wood.
Best Friend:
1. Kimi. He loves Kimi. I say love, but it's a relationship based solely on playing. There are no cuddles or tender exchanges. It can't last.
Doesn't Like:
1. Being snuck up on
2. Being grabbed at
3. Big, loud sudden noises.
Car Position:
He likes to be with the others in the back. It makes him feel one of the pack. He will go in the crate but doesn't like it much and the harness is ridiculously big for him so doesn't go on the back seat. If the small HBs are on the walk he always sits on a knee and spends the entire car journey licking their hands. They think he's the cutest, but then they're easily pleased.
Redeeming Features:
1. Playful.
2. Nice natured.
Other General Information:
He's pretty small for a dog, actually he's tiny (no wonder he and Kimi are BFs).

Tuesday Dog 2: Seymour

I have no idea okay?
I've tried everything to turn the picture round but it won't budge.
Just turn your laptop round then back again.
I'm too annoyed to keep on fiddling around and my paws hurt.
Plus my brain is all fuzzy and my neck is twisted so that I can look at Seymour the right way up.
Forget this for a game of soldiers.
I'll do the rest of his information another day.
I'm off to bed.

Tuesday Dog 1: Kimi

Name: Kimi
Nickname(s)
1. Kimsters
2. Kim Kims
3. Kimmy Kims
4. Kimiiiieeee
Distinguishing Features:
1. Tiny
2. Really small
3. Good looking (she looks like a mini me)
4. Really, really, tiny/small
5. A bark that starts somewhere below her belly and rises through her body coming out of her beard like a cacophony of shrill bells
Annoying Habits:
1. She thinks she is a big, strong dog. In her head she imagines herself like Rottweiler or perhaps an Alsatian but she is a Snoodle (Poodle, Schnauzer cross).
2. Barking at really big dogs (troublemaker)
3. Disappearing without so much as a note to say where she has gone
4. Rolling in poo (this is my job)
5. Barking (a lot)
Best Friend:
Seymour. They are like two tiny peas in a pod. They once shared/argued over a swan feather for an entire walk.
Doesn't Like:
1. Over petting, especially by small HBs
2. Being picked up
3. Anything that reminds her that she is really tiny
Car Position:
In the boot with the gang
Redeeming Features:
1. Good Looking. I know I've already mentioned this but I think it is important to say how much she looks like a miniature me.
2. Funny to watch
Other General Information:
Kimi is really small

Monday Dog 2: Woody

Name:
Woody
Nickname(s):
1. Wood Woods
2. The Woodsters
3. Woody Woods
(you get the idea, not much you can do with Woody)
Distinguishing Features:
He looks like a typical chocolate working cocker if you ask me - curly long ears that drag in the water and get tangled up the minute he starts walking, wiggly body and a tail that doesn't stop flapping about everywhere - whacking you in the face. The HB's like the look of him, 'shiny, beautiful, silky,' that kind of thing. Personally I think wiry fur is the way forward.
Annoying Habits:
1. Thinks he can sing - seriously. He sings a lot, especially when the HBs are around. He sits on their feet, gazes up at them and sings. He's singing in this picture. Nice trick? No, it's annoying.
2. Cowers a bit sometimes, or hides. I don't do cowering (unless the dog is unreasonably and unnaturally big and then a certain amount of cowering is expected - isn't it?)
3. Ball obsession. Its a ball, just a ball, not life itself.
4. Rushing about. Chillax man.
Best Friend:
Hard to say. He plays with the whole pack, but likes the littler dogs the best. He likes it when the part-time cocker (Eddie) comes to play, but Eddie can get a little too friendly if you know what I mean. The question is - does Woody enjoy those special Eddie cuddles? Jury's out.
Doesn't Like:
Feeling like he's been left behind...'wait for me!' - funny.
Car Position:
He's been everywhere in the car - even the front foot well which is MY SPOT. I have never seen it, but his smell was everywhere. He usually goes in the back though with the others. He likes the crate too.
Redeeming Features:
1. Good all rounder
2. Comes when calls
3. Good sniffer
4. Fun loving
Other General Information:
I'm part cocker so Woody is alright by me. Stick with me son, I'll teach you everything you need to know.
